Jill: It will hurt much less if you learn to think bioethically.

Wesley! I know that “IT” is not really meant to be funny and forgive me cause all I could picture while I was laughing is a continuance of this film where aliens later come in the room bioethically dressed and taking this female doctor away by force to educate her brain cells to their way of thinking but they first make sure that no body else is around.
I ask you Wesley, how do humans no matter what their religion fight something we can’t see or understand like sins.
I hear ya! With a little humor and a good heart Victor, otherwise, you might just go crazy if you took “IT” too seriously. :)
Great example movie!
Peace

Merci, I say, in honor of your Canadianship. We must not be too dour. That casts shadows when we need light.

I can quote Peter Singer, too. Can I be a bioethicist?

Great illustration–should be required viewing for all medical students!

Joleigh: Do you have a degree in philosophy?

Good job, Wesley.
Could I suggest you remake the movie but use phonetic spelling in the text in all places (there are a couple of pronunciation glitches).
And would it be possible to have the full text you used to create this made available to us? (but not in phonetic form).
Thanks for this, it is a good example of the perverse logic of bio-ethicists (even if they do have degrees in philosophy :-) )

I tried some phonetic changes during rehearsals, but it didn’t help. Speciesism is the main problem. I will post the script tomorrow and repost the clip.

Loved it…Wesley, you’re the best!

Wesley, I was going to forget about “IT” but your word Merci or should “IT” be Mercie?
Anyway I had a dream about you last night showing up at our home with another man who I thought might have been your body guard. He just stayed quiet a few feet behind as you walked toward me. There were friends and relatives around me as you walked closer to me and you were seemingly un afraid but your friend stayed behing as you voiced a kind of show off sentence in French to me with a smile. I’ve forgotten “IT” now but my reply in so many words said that my ancestors all came from somewhere in France and made their living travelling back and forth at sea before they finally settled in Canada.
I’m only sorry that I did not keep a better image of your French sentence and although “IT” was really kind of funny, I knew you meant no harm.
The dream ended with you showing off more by asking me how big the earth really was and the funny part about “IT” is I gave you two silly answers and then I woke up. Go figure! :)
God Bless Peace

YES! Pitch-perfect skewering. Wesley, thank you!!

I loved it. It was right on.

Heh. The bit about having a degree in philosophy, over and over again, is the best.
Mind you, licensing wouldn’t help. People just like this guy would set the licensing requirements. It would only _insure_ that no bioethicist like Kass ever got to be called one.

Old Friend,
You have done yourself proud. Where was this doctor when they were passing out the brains, behind the door getting a second helping of heads? Oh, and it’s OK to tell the person with the dream that it was me behind you.
Can you make a movie out of my book like that?

My Mother sent this to me…it is a debate that she and I have held regularly. Are we to be valued by our contributions to society or are we simply to be valued? Should we value a heart surgeon more than a drunk? One saves lives while the other ruins them (or at least is drain on resources…). With enough time and resources we might save the drunk but if resources are limited would it be better for us to aid the doctor? Rationing happens automatically…should we simply allow it to happen by default?
