That's like, a very dumb way to hold a paintbrush with paint on it for any length of time.

It also kinda looks like she's giving it a stare-down, kind of a, "Don't you dare mess up my nails!"

Watching paint drip holds a daemonic fascination for some people. The rapt attention as they watch a rivulet run down the wall or their wrist. I have seen it several times, and it is unnerving.......

The real class marker? Look at the colour of paint on the brush. Nobody that is working or middle class will paint their house that garish orange kumquat colour. Even for the trim. Show me a house that is brick red and kumquat in colour and I'll show you a six-figure income, even if she's lounging around in a Mossimo tracksuit..... :P .....

Careful on the color critiques LG, brick red and kumquat is high class where I come from.

sides, she might be painting over the red brick...... happens sometimes........

C'mon now, this is the just Women's Liberation photo op equivalent of Obama bowling..... or the Beer Summit.

There just trying to show us little folk, they're just like us.... cept for the insane God and guns stuff...

Isn't people reaching out..... across cultural boundaries.... part of the multi-cultural motif and being chic?

I'm all for the out reach, and equality, I would hire Michelle or any lawyer, to paint my house anytime.

Is not America supposed to be the kind of place where Ivy league educated lawyers can make good money painting houses?

Didn't someone promise all you haters out there "change you can believe in?" :)

Quit yer whining......

Please forgive me, master, but your interpersonal skills leave a lot to be desired. :?

When you get a woman to do manual labor don't critize, compliment! Use postive reinforcement!

for example: "Mmmmm baby, in this light, holding that brush, you look just like you did on our first date!"

or

"Um... Sugar Britches, I don't want you to mess up your good clothes, let me get you some painters overalls. Let's see... I'm guessing you are a size 2. Right?"

or

"Ya know, I think pushing that lawn mower and shovelling that snow has reallly toned up your butt! I bet I could bounce a quarter off it!""

They love it....just try it.....

That is the point, it IS High Class..... classy, at times, but definitely high class.....

To paint the brick, or not paint the brick? That is a question, and it depends on whatever conveys a higher element of authenticity. If there is original signage or paint that has been on forever, leave it. Otherwise, go for industrial and paint it some non-residential colour. Everything. High-pressure sprayers are a must in this application. That, or don't paint at all. Upper class people don't paint anything if it can at all be avoided. Paint is for peasants......

It's very middle class to replace and 'upgrade' fixtures. People with better motives tend to leave what's there. If you feel ambivalent about how that looks, take away some bits for maximum ugliness and paint over the entire lot - one colour. Absolutely essential that it's one colour, painting one wall a primary 'anchor' colour is an affectation that will go away.....

"when it doubt, bomb it out".......

because when you grow up poor that's what you think rich people do. That's why they paint it and upgrade. Currently looking at a kitchen cabinet with pierced tin. Trying to find something that very few people have. It will probably look like hillbilly chrome by the time I am done, but the flyer makes it look sophisticated and unique.
