Happy New Year to our Jewish forum members!

I have heard of carmel & apples, but not honey & apples.

Honey & Apples does look like a great, nutrious treat. Perfect for pop i guests.

If anyone wants to explain the tradition or significance of this dish, I for one would like to hear it.

Simple minded:

the next year should be as sweet as honey and as fruitful as apples... There is a little ditty in Hebrew sung as "apples and honey for the New Year".

Now why is an apple a symbol of fertility... Well think Adam and Eve...
