An Orthodox Hermit says it all, and it’s very humbling to hear.
I have to get quieter. I have so far to go.
He says: “without purity one cannot approach holiness…”
I am sure he means purity of body and mind and spirit.
I have far to go.

Grace and peace to you.

I love that clip so much! Thank you for putting it up. Yes, a long way for me as well. I take comfort in the fact that my heart keeps yearning for such tender love and humility for the One who has created all things. Thank you again!

That old hermit is a very wise man. He seems to see right to the heart of things.
If you sit there and take in all that he was saying we all have a very long way to go even to meet his standards. Can you imagine the standards God has hoped that we meet? Fascinating what people who really pay attention to the words and prayers and thoughts of the saints and of God can understand that we who live in the world don’t.
