You must admit, he’s a clever Irishman; sticks a tribute to Michael Jackson to the end of Angel of Harlem, and actually makes it work.
Speaking of Bono, over at American Papist we read confirmation of something I’d suspected for a little while, that Bono based U2’s “Magnificent” on the Virgin Mary’s Magnificat, found in the Gospel of Luke, “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord…” The papist has that video, too!

I also love the U2 song, “Gloria” for it’s distinctly Catholic lyrics:
“Gloria…in te domine
Gloria…exultate
Gloria…Gloria
Oh Lord, loosen my lips…”
I’ll always have a soft spot for Bono for that.

Bono’s instincts have always been golden. Still are. Nailed it. My man.
