This year marks the 25th anniversary of First Things. In celebration of our silver anniversary, First Things hosted a dinner and panel discussion in honor of the magazine’s founder, Fr. Richard John Neuhaus, on Tuesday, May 19th in New York City.

First Things is pleased to offer its readers an opportunity be a part of this special event. A video of the panel discussion can be found here.

The evening began with a reception with First Things authors and editorial staff, followed by dinner and a panel discussion. The panel features Editor R.R. Reno in a discussion with First Things veterans George Weigel, Midge Decter, and Timothy George, as well as Fr. Neuhaus’s biographer Randy Boyagoda. Panelists speak to Fr. Neuhaus’s legacy, what has changed in the public square—and what has remained the same—since First Things was first published. The panel provides an assessment of the current scene and ends with a discussion of the future of First Things, where we see the fight heading, and what we need to do to strengthen our voice and carry forward Fr. Neuhaus’s work.

All proceeds from this event benefited the First Things 25 Fund, a year-long campaign to strengthen existing programs and launch new initiatives. Thanks to the generosity of a benefactor, all 25 Fund donations are matched on a 1:1 basis.

We would like to thank our guests and the following sponsors for making this event a success:
