Catharine Savage Brosman has been a keynote reader in the MFA poetry program and the Summer Writers' Institute at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. Brosman has an extensive background in French literature, having studied in France as a Fulbright scholar and received a PhD in French from Rice University in 1960. She has taught at several institutions, most recently Tulane University, at which she occupied the Gore Chair of French studies and upon her retirement was named Professor Emerita.

Brosman is the author of fifteen collections of poetry, three collections of nonfiction prose, and numerous studies on French and American literary history. Collections of Brosman's poetry include Arm in Arm, On the Old Plaza, Range of Light, and A Memory of Manaus. Her collection of poems entitled Aerosols: Poems, published by Green Altar Books, was just released this October.
