Reporting from Washington -- President Obama will nominate federal judge Sonia Sotomayor of New York to the U.S. Supreme Court today, according to White House sources, positioning the longtime federal jurist to become the first Latino member of the nation's high court.

The announcement, the president's first nomination for the Supreme Court, will come at 10:15 a.m. Eastern time.
