III. Conversion
God, imagine you
(O Majesty!)
emerging from
obscurity
at that
small feast—
At Cana,
a wonder:
clarity unclouds
their hearts
when the best wine
gushes
from the water jars.
For that
I thank you,
my Dear.
And, Love,
I’m praying:
please
pour over me
your charity;
douse me
in the delight
of your laws
and ways
until I’m sated:
lightheaded,
laughing,
forgetful
of today’s
needs
yet soberly
alive to
your promise:
our mutual
delight.
