The articles urging that the dead donor rule be discarded to allow doctors to kill for organs are proliferating. I reported on a Nature editorial so advocating just a few days ago. Now a similar piece has been published in the Journal of Medical Ethics , written by F.G. Miller. I think it is important to publicize these articles from the professional journals because the antiseptic of sunlight is the best way to prevent these changes from happening.
It is also worth noting, considering the worries of how the most weak and vulnerable will fare under Obamacare, that Miller is a bioethicist for the NIH. More details over at Secondhand Smoke .

Twenty-five thousand people subscribe to First Things. Why can’t that be fifty thousand? Three million people read First Things online like you are right now. Why can’t that be four million?
Let’s stop saying “can’t.” Because it can. And your year-end gift of just $50, $100, or even $250 or more will make it possible.
How much would you give to introduce just one new person to First Things? What about ten people, or even a hundred? That’s the power of your charitable support.
