David won’t point it out over here, so I’m going to do it for him.  For those who don’t know, he has been struggling with cancer for over a year.  Over at his first blog, he has posted his most recent health update:

I liken myself to an old car in winter that’s cranky and hard to start but once I make it out of the driveway and get going down the road I get warmed up and can motor on pretty good.

Continue to pray for him, even as you also remember the InternetMonk and Matt Chandler.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Dear Reader,

Your charitable support for First Things is urgently needed before July 1.

First Things is a proudly reader-supported enterprise. The gifts of readers like you— often of $50, $100, or $250—make articles like the one you just read possible.

This Spring Campaign—one of our two annual reader giving drives—comes at a pivotal season for America and the church. With your support, many more people will turn to First Things for thoughtful religious perspectives on pressing issues of politics, culture, and public life.

All thanks to you. Will you answer the call?
