Pharoah created jobs for us. Moses led us away from those jobs. Even though those jobs helped to complete public infrastructure. Even though they were green jobs, where we used our muscles and our backs instead of fossil fuels. Moses could have been part of the ruling class in Egypt. He chose freedom instead. Those of us who followed Moses also chose freedom. Freedom brings risks. But we preferred the risks of freedom to the security of bondage.

Arnold Kling in a post titled, “If a Libertarian Gave a Sermon for Passover.”
My wife and I looked at each other, and she said “Are you totally sure it was Alfie that you buried?”, and I said “Yes, 100 per cent”.’ It was just unbelievable - the cat I had buried nine months earlier, the cat we spent about a month grieving over, was back, and my wife just couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

Happy cat-owner Angelo Petrillo has obviously never read Stephen King’s Pet Cemetery .
I thought I’d said no about as many ways as I could. I really do mean no. We have all these artful ways of doing it. I’ve tried Shermanesque responses, which everybody goes and finds out what Sherman said was pretty unequivocally no. I’ve done several different ways. I’ve tried quoting the country song, ‘What Part of No Don’t You Understand?’ I mean, I really do mean that. I feel very privileged to be able to serve our country. I’m honored to continue to do that as long as I can contribute, but I will not, ever, run for political office, I can assure you. And again, we have said that repeatedly and I’m hoping that people realize at a certain point you say it so many times that you could never flip, and start your career by flip-flopping into it.

Gen. David Petraeus is being rather vague about his future political prospects.

The godly satirist is one whose joke depends upon a sound argument, and would not work without it. The ungodly mocker is one who assumes that the case has been made somewhere, by somebody, and proceeds straight to the laughter. Mockery of this sort is the laugh track of unbelief.

Doug Wilson , a man wrote the book ( literally ) on godly satire.
The point that most parents dread in the development of a teenager is not the day they come home clutching extra-strength cigarettes, vials of crack cocaine, or a moping, mute and jobless boyfriend five years their senior. It’s the day they come home with sarcasm.

Ian Plenderleith must have some very sarcastic kids.

We consider health reform to have been an important battle and a success of his (Obama’s) government.

—Former Communist dictator Fidel Castro isn’t helping Obama quell that “Obamacare is socialism” meme.
