The folks at report that David Coppedge is litigating against NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab for harassment and threats of termination.  His offense: talking to co-workers about Intelligent Design.  I’m not a big fan of the ID arguments, and it seems that Mr. Coppedge could be urgent at times, but isn’t it bit strange that the folks at JPL find the rather arcane ID theories a threat to the workplace.  Firing people for talking about Michael Behe’s books?  Odd, but I suppose the impulse toward imposing a party line is powerful in all collective enterprises, including scientific ones.
