This from one of the leaders of a new and “arguably the largest and most well funded blackjack team,” made up entirely of churchgoing evangelical Christians , several of them pastors: “Blackjack makes people reassess what Christianity is, in a good way . . . and at least we can liberate the money from the clutches of those who would use it for ill purposes.” Whether it’s the lucrative winnings that draws these churchgoing card-counters, a Robinhood redistributionist reading of Acts, or both, will be seen when their documentary, “Holy Rollers,” becomes available.
