At NRO, I just came across this fun game brought to you by John Pitney. It tracks Gingrich’s favorite words and phrases a la Bingo. Try it out with your friends and family.
It could even be a drinking game. It’s Saturday night after all!
If you take the drinking game seriously, you could always DVR tomorrow morning’s debate.
Update: Gingrich disappointed for the Bingo game, but had a good moment when he tried to reframe Stephanopoulos’ tiresome and persistent questioning on contraception. Santorum did fine throughout, but nothing great. He had a good line about Paul’s microphone feedback indicating he was lying. Huntsman spoke Mandarin, which was pretentious. His eyebrow remained arch and arched even more. Romney was little rattled, as the other candidates went after each other. In the “15 minutes” of discussion regarding contraception, I was surprised Romney didn’t know the Griswold decision. Despite Gingrich’s claim (which the others corrected), there is no college basketball (or football for the others) championship game tonight, but Paul would rather be reading economic textbooks on a Saturday night anyway (really?). Perry was fine compared to what he has done in previous debates, but ought to drop out Wednesday. Besides he wants to re-invade Iraq! Better that he goes to the gun range.
It seems that Romney inevitability is creeping in.
Overall, I didn’t get to take as many drinks as I wanted from the Gingrich key word Bingo game. Aw shucks!
While I have you, can I ask you something? I’ll be quick.
Twenty-five thousand people subscribe to First Things. Why can’t that be fifty thousand? Three million people read First Things online like you are right now. Why can’t that be four million?
Let’s stop saying “can’t.” Because it can. And your year-end gift of just $50, $100, or even $250 or more will make it possible.
How much would you give to introduce just one new person to First Things? What about ten people, or even a hundred? That’s the power of your charitable support.
