Watch Rabbi Meir Y. Soloveichik deliver the 33rd annual First Things Erasmus Lecture on the topic Lincoln’s Almost Chosen People: Hebraism, Nationalism, and the American Future. This lecture took place on December 7, 2020, at the Union League Club in New York City. Rabbi Soloveichik leads the Congregation Shearith Israel, the oldest Jewish congregation in North America and directs the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought at Yeshiva University.
