<em> Victorian Studies </em>
 recently invited submissions for a special issue, entitled &ldquo;Victorian Sexualities.&rdquo; &ldquo;Topics,&rdquo; stated the call for papers, &ldquo;may include (but certainly are not limited to) Victorian homosexualities; the erotics of dress and cross-dressing; sexuality and city life, desire and Orientalism; sexuality and victimization; commodification and desire; religious ritual and sexuality; the erotics of spectacle. Essays which emerge from interdisciplinary study are particularly encouraged.&rdquo; Far from being idiosyncratic, the projected issue of this eminent journal is indicative of a larger moment in American academic culture&mdash;the homosexual moment.
