We are pleased to announce that we have hired Anthony Sacramone to be the new Managing Editor for First Things , beginning May 30.
An editor with long experience as copy chief, proofreader, and managing editor in the publishing world, from Biography and Reader’s Digest to Beliefnet and Discover , Anthony brings great technical gifts to the magazine. More, a Missouri Synod Lutheran, he has been a subscriber to First Things since the magazine was founded, and he is enthusiastic and committed to the magazine’s projects. We will miss our previous Managing Editor, Erik Ross, who has left for Poland to try his vocation as a Dominican, and we’re grateful that Anthony has stepped in to fill the gap.
Our thanks go out as well to all the many fine candidates who applied for the managing editorship. It’s humbling to learn the high regard with which so many hold First Things and its work.
We launched the First Things 2023 Year-End Campaign to keep articles like the one you just read free of charge to everyone.
Measured in dollars and cents, this doesn't make sense. But consider who is able to read First Things: pastors and priests, college students and professors, young professionals and families. Last year, we had more than three million unique readers on firstthings.com.
Informing and inspiring these people is why First Things doesn't only think in terms of dollars and cents. And it's why we urgently need your year-end support.
Will you give today?
