So many stories are coming out of the UK and Canada about the lethal consequences of turning health care over to cost/benefit/best practices control panels, that we ignore them at our very real peril.  The Globe and Mail reports today about women being cut off from drug combo treatments to treat a lethal lung disease due to cost–not efficacy.  One is now close to death.

We have been warned. More details over at Secondhand Smoke.

Regardless of what the legislation actually says, nationalizing health care in the mode that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are attempting, will inevitably result in the perversions seen in Canada, Britain, and other places.

The economics of nationalized medicine do not work without it.

Interesting that the death panels in Britain operate under a commission whose acronym is “NICE”. How fitting this is, in the context of the C.S. Lewis novel “That Hideous Strength”, in which an organization with the same acronym stands for mendacity, corruption, evil, and death–all in the name of modern progress.
