I used to think that people worried about one world government were more than a little paranoid.  No more. Indeed, the global warming hysteria is being mounted, at least in part, as a pretext to impose the beginning of one world government–which would be rule by bureaucrats.  Indeed, the head of the UN, the hopelessly radical Utopian Ban Ki-moon, has stated he wants the beginning of one world governance to be agreed upon at the Copenhagen Treaty.  From his column in the NYT:

Looking forward to Copenhagen, I have four benchmarks for success:…A deal must include an equitable global governance structure. All countries must have a voice in how resources are deployed and managed. That is how trust will be built.

The United States should never agree to such a scheme.  Our personal rights and freedoms come from the limitations placed on government power by our constitution.  The “international community” has no such scruples or limitations.  That means our individual rights depend on maintaining absolute control over our national sovereignty.  Participate in international accords, sure. Submit to world governance, no way!

Also note, that Copenhagan is intended to be a vehicle for massive wealth redistribution:

A successful deal must strengthen the world’s ability to cope with an already changing climate. In particular, it must provide comprehensive support to those who bear the heaviest climate impacts. Support for adaptation is not only an ethical imperative; it is a smart investment in a more stable, secure world.

A deal needs to be backed by money and the means to deliver it. Developing countries need funding and technology so they can move more quickly toward green growth. The solutions we discuss cannot be realized without substantial additional financing, including through carbon markets and private investment.

Hysteria clearly has its uses.  The ruling elite are either  losing their minds, or are implementing a plan.  I am beginning to think it is the latter rather than the former.  Of course, it could be both.

Let the lunatics push for this stuff. They forget that just because The One is president, the USA is still a representative democracy (unlike Europe where the governing elites are largely out-of-touch and even contemptuous of the public), and this sort of insanity won’t come close to Senate approval no matter how big the Democrat margin there is.

It’s both. Furthermore, they seem oblivious to what “the people” actually want. Much like “health care” in Congress. Many of those in power have gone from viewing themselves as representatives to viewing themselves as rulers. Ugh!

According to the news today, the UN has just punted on the climate treaty. They announced that they are pushing discussions off until next year.

Of all the weird things I thought about the future the furthest from my mind was that it would turn into Atlas Shrugged

It would have to be both.

Well I never did like the U.N. or Eleanor Roosevelt. There goes civilization. Can’t say “another country heard from” any more. This is not good.

Plus what would happen to the flags on SHS next to the numbers of visitors to SHS from their countries? What DID happen to them? I don’t see them any more but then I can never find anything. But if they’re no longer part of SHS, SEE WHAT HAPPENED as a result?

Glad to see that you ARE willing to “see” the forest as well as the tress, Wesley.

But, we aught not be surprised, but, rather, we should simply be alerted that the Bible, & it’s predictions are, once again, occurring as to be expected.

There WILL be a Global Governance Body, and there WILL be a “leveling of the Global Balance of Power”, and the USA WILL become a 2nd rater…almost insignificant…OR…will be eliminated.

What’s important is how EACH of us CHOOSES to respond, whether we’ll choose to PREpare, and look out for others…OR…simply “go along to get along”…your choice.

We needn’t hope to stop the inevitable…at BEST, we’ll simply slow it down. BUT! To be AWARE is to BEWARE! PREpare!
