What a shame. When Senator Elect Scott Brown won the Massachusetts special election, I saw it is a real political and policy opportunity for President Obama. He could jettison the current disastrous bills and retool–focusing on what is actually broken rather than trying to remake our entire health care system.  Instead, he is apparently just pushing the whole mess onto the back burner for awhile. From the story:

With Mr. Obama’s health care overhaul stalled on Capitol Hill, Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, said in an interview that Democrats would try to act first on job creation, reducing the deficit and imposing tighter regulation on banks before returning to the health measure, the president’s top priority from last year.

If the Dems spend the Spring moving on other issues, I don’t see how Obamacare gets forced through before the November election–although, I suppose, they could try after the election.  But refusing to make things even incrementally better in the interim would validate the suspicion in my mind that for the Left, it is all or nothing–takeover or leave the uninsured in their pain because, to paraphrase Rahm Emanuel, “a good crisis is too important to waste.”

We should all come to understand that Rahm is really the president and Obama is just the “empty suit” that read speeches from the Teleprompter and has no idea what they are about, nor does he care, as long as he gets to pretend he is important.

and in the world of bio-ethics..

Scott Roeder was sentenced to life for the murder of George Tiller.

A gang of convicted Anti-Abortion criminals were in the courtroom to show their support for the murderer, and to enforce the message that Roeder himself claimed, “I know there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal.”

Meanwhile Wesley ignored the actual trial and its tough questions for the bio-ethics community. (recommending a better pre-trial defense strategy for murder doesn’t cut it)

..now back to Nadia Sulman and daily coverage of everything Barack Obama is doing wrong.
(Funny how this site rarely if ever criticized Bush)

AndrewJ: This isn’t a daily newspaper. I comment when I think something is worth the time of my audience. As it happens, the judge made a good rulling that I will comment on. If you want to cover the blow by blow, start your own blog.

I think this healthcare plan is important to Democrats for reasons other than just healthcare. The plan raises taxes for three years before it goes into effect. I think it’s imperative that Democrats get those funds in the tank, in the budget, to later have a show of fiscal responsibility before the next election. I can see them claiming a balanced budget, but only because those extra funds are floating around in there.

What did the Roeder case have to do with this post? Who were the “gang of convicted Anti-Abortion criminals”? Can you provide names and records of the convictions? Nope, just like all those prayerful, peaceful folks outside of abortion clinics. Canyou name any pro-lifer that approved Tiller’s murder? Roeder and Tiller were both murderers – Tiller murdered thousands of defenseless innocents for MONEY and fed them to his crematorium.
