The Presentation of the Lord/Fra Angelico

Since we talked about it yesterday:

Here is a podcast of The Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary:

The Annunciation
The Visitation
The Birth of Our Lord
The Presentation
The Finding of our Lord in the Temple

Hit the link for illustration and lessons – mostly thanks to the remarkable Deacon Greg.

I’ll try to record the other four mysteries before Ash Wednesday.

Before each mystery, I make a very brief note of relevant scripture; literally a line – whatever line pops into my head as I’m praying – from the scripture that relates to a part of the mystery. It’s just how I have always prayed the rosary, a way to add to the contemplative nature of it.

Although I was not taught the rosary with it, I’ve taken my Li’l Bro Thom’s advice and included the “Fatima addendum” at the end of each decade, which goes “Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.”

As I’ve said before, feel free to invite your favorite saints and holy men and women – even the archangels or your guardian angel – to pray the rosary with you. It’s nice to have company!
