Hey, he may have broken all of his promises to reverse the policies of George W. Bush when it comes to war, domestic wiretapping, enhanced interrogation, rendition and the rest, but you can’t say he isn’t keeping his promises to disarm America.
So, I made this incredible cake yesterday for my FIL’s birthday and it really was fantastic. I am a known cake-disliker and even I declared it “the best cake ever.” Make it. Eat it. You will love.
Why am I talking cake while the president is losing interest in Afghanistan (the war that “must” be won), considering formalizing his shack-up with the press, redefining the meaning of the words “tax” and “fine, and trying to tell a sitting governor that he mustn’t run for re-election. Oh, and while his White House looks to be enmeshed in a mess?
We have another 3.5 years of this. Might as well enjoy something.
I kinda miss Bush, today.

To italicize use the lower case i as the command. Replace my paren with “”.
Like (i)italicized text(/i).
The “i” opens the command, the “/i” closes it.

Replace the paren with a ‘less than’ sign to open, ‘greater than’ sign to close.

Anchoress – sorry to use this forum as Computers 101, but I think I’m getting a bead on this -
So, if I do this: “HTML uses tags to communicate to the client (browser) how to display text and images. Tags are contained in symbols. In most cases you start with the beginning tag, put in the word or words that will be affected by this tag, and at the end of the string of word(s), you place a closing tag.”
- then this – should show up in italics.
If this doesn’t work, I will practice elsewhere. If it does work, God love ya Dave. And even if it doesn’t!

1. Because he IS such a mess, and if you and we dwell on it 24/7 from now until he’s gone, we WILL go batty.

The html tag for an extended quote is blockquote. I’m not sure about the line down the side — that may be configurable on the viewer’s side of things.

That is the understatement of this, or any other year you’d care to nominate.
I lived through the Carter years as a teenager and I am afraid that the Current Occupant will make Carter look like Reagan in comparison.
As an aside, I’m the type of “cook” who can burn water but Pioneer Woman makes me want to try my hand at cooking. Well done to Ree for her blog, and thanks to you Anchoress for linking to her.
